Résumé
In this article, we reveal the importance of self-esteem as a conative component in a learner’s competence model of vocational training in Tunisia, based on part of a global study of other soft skills. We studied this feature theoretically, in the field by conducting a survey of 506 learners and semi-directional interviews with 7 learners. The results of our quantitative and qualitative analysis have shown a lack of self-esteem among vocational training learners whose main factors affecting are the learner’s expectations in his training environment, his cognitive psychology and his personal skills estimation.
