Résumé

This paper presents a lesson study approach implemented in the initial training of primary school teachers. This device seems able to solve several problems in initial teacher training and in particular related to the weakness of the link between theory and practice and to the lack of awareness of the impact of the teacher’s interventions on student’s learning. This article will present an adaptation of this device and its impact on students’ professional development. This work opens avenues for teacher training, in particular in terms of encouraging students to use theoretical concepts to analyse their practice.

Abstract

This paper presents a lesson study approach implemented in the initial training of primary school teachers. This device seems able to solve several problems in initial teacher training and in particular related to the weakness of the link between theory and practice and to the lack of awareness of the impact of the teacher’s interventions on student’s learning. This article will present an adaptation of this device and its impact on students’ professional development. This work opens avenues for teacher training, in particular in terms of encouraging students to use theoretical concepts to analyse their practice.
