Résumé

Among the factors that explain success in the first year of university, there has been a growing interest in emotional intelligence (EI), defined as a set of skills and dispositions related to perceiving, understanding and managing the emotions of others and oneself. The work presented here investigates the link between EI, as measured by the EI-Trait, and the learning strategies of newcomers. Knowing the characteristics of this population could help in designing support measures adapted to their needs.
