Résumé
Professional disengagement among teachers is a worrisome phenomenon that has been little documented to date. Thus, this research aims to define and understand the process of professional disengagement among experienced high school teachers. The results obtained from the thematic analysis of eight semi-directed interviews reveal that the numerous difficulties affecting the work of teachers can act as a source of disengagement by affecting its three dimensions. Also, this disengagement can be observed through multiple manifestations. These results show the gradual nature of professional disengagement, which is expressed according to various profiles.
